Institute-wide ACCORD meeting reports on distributed printing, student advisory & outreach

MIT's cross-departmental group ACCORD, met on March 24th to discuss issues relating to campus printing, student IT advisory and outreach strategies.

Oliver Thomas outlined IS&T's new student printing service which will be rolled out in pilot phase next week. Using 'Hold and Release' technology, students will have more control over their print jobs throughout campus. Print statistics are monitored by Virebo, a technology start-up initiated by recent MIT grads. Visitors can view MIT printing statistics online.

Jonathan Reed spoke about the newly re-formed Student Advisory Committee to IS&T. Representatives are drawn from all the major student stakeholder groups throughout campus, and the group convenes open meetings 4-6 times per year.

Lastly Toru Iiyoshi and Molly Ruggles shared insights and best practices on outreach strategies and faculty engagement at OEIT as well as extending throughout the institute.
