ACCORD Debuts Video Recording and Delivery Portal

September 2, 2010

Many video services and resources are available at MIT. Now you can go to one place to find out about them: ACCORD’s new Video Recording and Delivery portal in the Teaching with Technology website.

Whether you’re a fledging videographer or experienced practitioner, you’ll want to bookmark this useful resource. The site covers a range of topics, including

  • Incorporating video in an MIT website
  • Purchasing or renting video equipment
  • Making videos accessible using subtitles and transcripts
  • Uploading videos to MIT TechTV, YouTube, or other sites

If you are getting started with video, the portal provides an introduction to the production process – from planning, video capture, and editing to delivery and archiving. Four tutorials taught by Kris Brewer of MIT TechTV cover the basics:

Linking Up
The portal provides quick links to information on accessibility, copyright, output standards, and more. It also outlines the various levels of services on campus, specifying free, fee-based, and do-it-yourself options.

Built by the ACCORD-sponsored Video Services Portal Implementation Team, the site represents the consolidated work of Molly Ruggles (OEIT), Kate James (OCW), Ranjani Saigal (IS&T), Kris Brewer (TechTV), Elaine Mello (AMPS) and Peter Bedrosian (Registrar).

If you have questions about producing videos at MIT, send mail to video-info@mit.edu. To give feedback on the Video Recording and Delivery portal, send mail to accord@mit.edu.
