Calll for Proposals open for NERCOMP 2012

Call for Proposals is open for next year's annual NERCOMP conference, March 11-13, 2013 in Providence, Rhode Island.

NERCOMP 2012 will focus on “Improvising the Future.” In a time of perpetual change and when long range planning is difficult, we often cannot perform according to a set script or score; indeed, we find we must be agile and innovative enough to create new systems and processes to meet the expectations of our communities. We need to be able to improvise, collaborate with colleagues, and build on existing frameworks to arrive at creative solutions for the future.

Preconference seminars will be held in Providence Monday, March 11, with the full face-to-face and online conference programs March 12-13. The program sessions will focus on these key topic areas:

• Corporate and Campus Solutions
• IT Services: Support Models and Practices
• Leadership and Organizational Development
• Libraries and Scholarship in the 21st Century
• Policy, Regulations, and Security
• Systems and Solutions
• Teaching and Learning

Attending the NERCOMP Annual Conference is an opportunity to connect with innovators and forward thinkers, learn about current and emerging best practices, and explore ways to tackle common challenges. Presenting is also participation when you lead a session or contribute as part of a panel whether onsite or online. We learn from each other by sharing experiences, ideas, and information. Submit a proposal to share what you have learned.

Tips to remember as you prepare your proposal to present at the NERCOMP Annual Conference 2013:

• All those from institutions of higher education and associations interested in higher education IT are encouraged to submit proposals on key topics suggested in the track area descriptions.
• Presenters may choose to present face-to-face at the conference, online only from anywhere using Adobe Connect, or both face-to-face and online as a webcast.
• As you think about the best format to propose, remember all sessions should be designed for both attendees and presenters to learn from interactive exchange.
• It is very important to clearly articulate intended outcomes—the specific knowledge to be acquired as a result of attending your session.
• Engaging your audience is one of the most critical aspects of a successful presentation, so don't forget to include specific strategies of how you will build interactivity during your session.
