Lourdes and Stacie are research scientists in the Education Group and are engaged in Biology educational technologies development and curriculum innovation. They will speak about their collaborative work involving StarGenetics, a virtual genetic cross simulator developed at MIT. Lourdes was one of the developers of the first released version of StarGenetics, and now both scientists are part of OEIT‘s STAR team that is developing new functionalities and resources for this freely available online software tool. They will discuss their implementation of StarGenetics curricular materials in the undergraduate Genetics courses that Stacie taught at Suffolk University and their early efforts in learning assessment.
