About PROF. K.R. SRIVATHSAN
Prof. K.R. Srivathsan is currently a pro Vice Chancellor of IGNOU. He is architecting, guiding and building a next generation framework of e-Learning for IGNOU. Prior to joining IGNOU Prof. Srivathsan served as the Director of the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management -Kerala (IIITM-K) in Trivandrum. There he inspired and guided the development of the Education Grid, KISSAN-Kerala, e-krishi, Virtual University for Agricultural Trade, the Krishideepam TV Serial in Agriculture, the Computational Chemistry Portal, the Trivandrum City Police Portal for Community Interactions, Open GIS developments and promoted the adoption of FOSS based solutions. Most of his early career was at IIT Kanpur where he was a faculty member and Head of the Electrical Engineering Department. He holds a Ph.D. from Queen's University - Canada, M.Tech from IIT Kanpur and a B.E. From REC (now NIT) Durgapur.
