On May 13th, Dr. Toru Iiyoshi, OEIT Senior Strategist, will be giving a keynote talk entitled "The Future of Continuing Education and Open Education" at The Collaboration and Learning Environment Conference hosted by Open University of Japan (OUJ). His co-presenter is Dr. Youichi Okabe, Vice President and CIO of OUJ.
Session Summary:
In this keynote session, the presenters will review the current state of open education and lifelong learning through some examples, and explore anticipated outcomes in the future. They also discuss "how opening up education can resolve some of the critical issues that higher education and lifelong learning is facing" as well as "what strategies, technological infrastructures, and support structures are necessary at each of the national, regional, and institutional levels" to achieve these goals.
