These smooth, nearly flat features often form with solution flutes. The bevels usually curve in an arc at the top where they intersect the flutes. Solution bevels usually form on bare karst.
Sometimes, a series of steps of solution bevels will form what is called funnel steps. These features are similar to solution bevels but form mainly in cold climates where snow cover melts and forms the funnel steps.
