3.3.2.3 Ice Scour Plain

Ice sheets often scour the preglacial topography which results in a very flat area called an ice-scour plain. The surface is striated, grooved, and polished; the residual rounded rock knobs are usually interspersed with patches of glacial till. This type of terrain is common in the Canadian Shield area and in parts of Scandinavia.
