8.3.5 Cinder Cone

A cinder or ash cone is a conical hill or mountain built up with ejected pyroclastic material from a volcano and, as the name indicates, of relatively small grain size. Cinder cones are steep-sided cones, with a slope between 30 and 40 degrees, and are frequently found as parasites on larger volcanoes.
