8.3.7.4 Pyroclastic Eject

A pyroclastic eject is a fragment blown out by a volcanic explosion. A pyroclastic eject is classified as belonging to one of four groups, based on size. The four groups, in increasing order of size are: ash, cinders, lapilli, and blocks/bombs. Blocks and bombs generally have the same size, but differ in shape. Blocks tend to be angular, while bombs tend to be rounded.
