Cole is a software developer in OEIT, where he builds web applications to support concept-based learning in classrooms and online. These web apps allow each student to learn in a more flexible manner and focus on the individual topics he or she needs to study. As a graduate student at MIT, he was advised by Professor Richard Larson, and his master's research involved the system design of a personalized learning platform. Cole's interests include personalized learning, learning of 21st century skills, and project-based learning.

Prior to MIT, Cole served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mexico, where he worked on technology transfer and business strategies for new technologies. He also worked as an engineer and project manager at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque.
